Ballarat Central
Built in 1911, this once quaint cottage was renovated in 2020 with the removal of the 1990s extension that had previously been tacked onto the back of the house and renovated with a much more contemporary look whilst adhering to the strict local heritage rulings.
With the brief of an Asian-inspired garden, the exterior of the home featured several textural elements that needed to be taken into consideration when designing the landscape.
Starting from the street, the restored heritage façade was updated and refreshed using Haymes colour Balance with the trims in Dulux vivid white, and the rear extension updated using an ultra-modern aluminium cladding with the addition of a striking chimney made from glazed bricks in various green tones with a hint of vanilla and tangerine.
Taking these elements into consideration, our design team wanted to not only create a space of tranquillity but ensure a seamless transition from the house into the landscape working to incorporate these elements into the garden design to elevate all aspects of the exterior.
